I did it! As I promised yesterday when I announced my new doodled planners, I’ve made you a video that shows how I create digital scrapbooking layouts with them.
It’s extremely short – about 1:20. The page only took 49.03 seconds to make, but who’s counting?
Here are the supplies I used in the layout:
About the Office Supplies I Used for My Planners
I’ll show you pictures of my planner office supplies later. It’s such a dark, snowy day here that I can’t get good photos, particularly since I bought so many black items. I purchased all of my supplies at Office Depot, so I didn’t spend a lot.
The most important thing you need to know is that you should use some good paper when printing out the planners – at least 24 lb weight, because you’ll want to print them out on both sides of the paper. If the paper isn’t heavy enough, you will see both sides at once.
I bought bright white ink jet 24 lb. weight paper by Epson. It was on sale for $7.99 for 500 pages and I love it. Not only does it look great, it has a wonderful surface for writing and drawing on. Very smooth.
Of course, you could always take the files to an office supply store and have them printed out for you, if you wish.
Someone asked me today what kind of page protectors I use for my layouts. (She remembered that I prefer making them in 8.5×11 rather than 12×12.)
Actually, I’m not fussy about page protectors. I never buy expensive scrapbooking brands. Instead, I buy big boxes of page protectors from office supply stores, such as Office Depot.
If you are wondering…
Yes, the page protectors are archival safe. And cheap.
Cheap is good.
I love scrapbooking in the 8.5×11 size, because not only is that size less expensive and easier to deal with when printing the layouts out, there are lots of fun options for weird page protectors that won’t break the bank.
For instance, did you know that you can do neat things with baseball card holders, business card holders, and slide holders? There are also some other weird combinations. It’s sort of like Project Life, only you’re using crazy pocket sizes.
Well, I better run now. Mom’s just announced that she’s making me dinner. Wa-hoo!
Have a great weekend.
